Museum of the Southwest:
Five-and-a-half-acre, multidisciplinary cultural campus comprised of the Turner Memorial Art Museum, Durham Children’s Museum, Blakemore Planetarium and public sculpture collection totaling over 55k square feet.
Budget of $1.7 million, collection of over 1,700 art objects and a staff of twenty-two full-time, part-time and seasonal employees.
Opened in 1966 as an independent non-profit institution; accredited by the American Alliance of Museums since 1992.

Curatorial responsibilities include:
Researching and development of new exhibitions, including traveling and in-house curated exhibitions and a dynamic Contemporary Series.
Published Museum of the Southwest: Selections from the Permanent Collection, the Museum’s first book about the permanent collection, as a project manager, writer for majority of content, and overseer of editing and design.
Designing and installing of all gallery spaces. Writing exhibition labels and working closely with the Education department to development gallery interpretation.
Researching and presenting acquisitions to Collections Committee. Working closely with Collections and Exhibitions Manager to oversee collections care, including in-house conservation of outdoor sculptures.
Creating and managing budgets for Collections and Exhibitions departments. Writing grants and developing targeted fundraising efforts for exhibitions, collections and special projects.

McDermott Graduate Curatorial Intern, Dallas Museum of Art September 2011- April 2012
Created powerpoints for docent training, gave multi-media gallery talks, wrote blog posts, supplemented teacher resource packages.
Assisted with registration research for archaeological objects, and helped create object registry for AAM database.
Liaised between Curatorial and Education, assisted with programming planning for the Dallas presentation of the travelling exhibition, “The Legacy of the Plumed Serpent in Ancient Mexico.”
